“Why the f*** am I not getting paid more?” — This American Hustle [episode 5]

In this episode, we look into why wages haven’t increased in the US. Sean brings some academic insights and Ryan asks some dumb questions. It was a much better topic than we expected, so we had to cut the discussion.

We learned a few lessons:

1. You have to control your career. Drive for increases in pay by setting advancement plans with managers and negotiating raises.
2. Consider Career Change – If #1 has no hope, then you have to find another career.
3. Find Higher Ground – Growing industries are key to increased wages, look for ones where demand for the role is high/increasing.
